Lolab, Kupwara — The second day of the much-anticipated Lolab Premier League brought electrifying cricketing action as eight teams from across the valley battled it out in front of enthusiastic crowds, all vying for supremacy in one of the region’s most popular sporting events.
At Chandigam ground, the local crowd was treated to a spectacular performance by One Sports Saiwan, who posted a formidable total of 195 for 4. Their bowlers then held their nerves to restrict Game Changers Khurhama to 137 for 3, securing a comfortable victory. Mehboob Khan, the local boy from Saiwan, dazzled with his all-round performance and was rightly adjudged Man of the Match.
The second fixture at Chandigam saw Lolab Reds, Kuligam take on United Club Sogam in a fiercely contested game. With impressive batting and fielding displays, Lolab Reds emerged victorious, as Javeed Ah Dar claimed the Man of the Match honours.
Meanwhile, at Tarich ground, Cheerkote Cricket Club outplayed Valley Vipers Lolab in the opening match of the day, while Rising Star Tarich produced a commanding performance to comfortably defeat Vintage Club Jaggerpora.
In one of the day’s closest encounters, Blue Star Dorusa narrowly edged out DCC Dardpora by just 10 runs, with Owais delivering a match-winning performance that earned him the Man of the Match title. The final clash at Tarich saw YMC Lolab Tekipora, led by a brilliant innings from Sheikh Junaid, overpower Lolab Royals.
At the Cheepora ground, the youthful energy was on full display as Blue Squad Saiwan cruised past Elite Cricket Club Lolab. The standout of the match was 16-year-old Masroor, who captivated the spectators with his outstanding performance, earning him accolades as a rising star in the tournament.
