Srinagar: In a significant development, Omar Abdullah, after securing support from multiple political parties, including Congress, CPM, AAP, and independents, met with Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. During the meeting, Abdullah formally handed over letters of support and requested the LG to expedite the process of fixing a date for the swearing-in ceremony, allowing the new government to start functioning.
Abdullah acknowledged the procedural steps involved under Central rule, stating, “The LG will first send the documents to Rashtrapati Bhawan, followed by the Home Ministry. We have been told it will take 2-3 days.” He expressed hope that the ceremony could take place by Wednesday if everything moves forward before Tuesday.
Emphasizing his commitment to balanced governance, Abdullah assured that Jammu would not be ignored under this administration. The development marks a crucial step in restoring political stability in the region.
