Kupwara– In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, a 3-year-old toddler was reportedly assaulted on late evening of 18th of February 2025 near her residence in Haji Mohalla, Khumriyal, Lolab. The accused, a minor boy aged 15-16, has been arrested, and an investigation is underway.
According to sources, the incident occurred close to the toddler’s home. The family immediately rushed the child to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kupwara for medical attention. Due to the severity of the case, she was subsequently referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla for further treatment. Medical professionals are closely monitoring her condition.
Local authorities have registered a case under FIR No. 54/2025, invoking Section 63 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Kupwara Police Station. The accused, a resident of the same locality, was swiftly taken into custody. Police officials have assured the public that a thorough investigation is being conducted to ensure justice is served.
