Kupwara: A young tractor driver lost his life in a fatal road accident on Saturday morning in Chandigam area of Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Reports reaching Spotlight News said that the mishap occurred near Darul Uloom Chandigam when a tractor turned turtle, resulting in the on-spot death of the driver.
Soon after the incident, local residents, along with police and Army personnel stationed nearby, rushed to the spot and helped retrieve the body. It was later shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Sogam for medico-legal formalities.
Confirming the incident, a police official identified the deceased as Khalid Hassan Mir (24), son of Ghulam Hassan Mir, a resident of Putushahi Lolab.
“We have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation,” the official said.
