Zakir, in his late forties, is a family man living with his wife and his two children. As with every other man in the society he wants to fulfill all the demands of his family and he was doing it very well.
He started off with working in a corporate office where he was working day in and out to meet the requirements
of his close knit family. From doing part time chores, avoiding holidays, the only aim in his mind was just to add to his savings and enhance the standard of their life back home.
Once,as everyone in the family was waiting desperately for the monthly salary, but he was not credited with his
dues this time. This non disbursal of the salary led to financial strain in the family immediately as the sole source of income was thwarted.
Better half, like anywhere else in similar cases, prodded Zakir to buy essentials.
As the wife ended her way of demanding from the head of the family, he didn’t say a word in response.
He went straight into his room and began pondering over the issue at hand.
While he was deep in his musings, his son came into the room and sat before him.
“Aba, I have to submit my school fee in two days or else I will be not allowed in the premises of the school.”
Zakir, looking towards him very keenly, said, “ no problem my dear, we will submit it in the given time.”
After Knowing that there was no way to get out of this problem he was still presenting or appearing strong before his family and giving them the elusive hope amid all the uncertainties.
But not everyone was understanding his struggle, some were thinking he is not capable, some were thinking that he is a coward.
No, everyone can’t understand it. Being a father is not very easy. You have not only to earn but also to take care of every member’s feelings and moods.
Zakir after looking towards the mirror said,”Ah why God why why they can’t understand what I am feeling and from which phase I am passing. I have sacrificed everything for them. My days, my nights, my time ,my health everything but they are only just taking care of their wishes and desires which are endless.
And it is the real truth of today’s society that everyone is busy in fulfilling his own wishes and desires while father is the only person who sacrifices himself for his loved ones.
“Every desire will bow before the sacrifice of a father,” muttered his son in the hallway while leaving the room.
