Karnah Kupwara : In a significant display of unity and responsibility, prominent ulema, including Muftis, Imams, and Qaris, convened today at Madrasa Shah Hamdan to denounce a recent social media post by an unknown individual. The post, which appeared online, was widely condemned for attempting to sow discord between Hindu and Muslim communities in the otherwise harmonious region of Karnah.
During the gathering, religious scholars expressed deep concern over the negative impact caused by such inflammatory content. “Our eyes are firmly on this issue, and we are closely monitoring the situation,” the ulema asserted. They emphasized that any individual found spreading hateful or divisive material online would be held accountable, stating that incitement and the creation of unnecessary tensions in a peaceful society will not be tolerated.
Highlighting the rich tradition of communal harmony in Karnah, the ulema urged all residents, especially the youth, to refrain from posting or sharing any hate speech on social media platforms. They appealed to the public to remain vigilant and to report any such attempts to disrupt the peace.
“Every religion teaches us to live in peace and respect one another. Unnecessary provocation has no place in our society,” said one of the speakers. The ulema called upon the entire community to uphold the values of unity, harmony, and brotherhood and to jointly safeguard the region’s tranquil environment.
The religious leaders requested everyone to act responsibly online, promote messages of goodwill, and reject any attempt to divide society.
