Srinagar: SKIMS Medical College and Hospital, Bemina successfully conducted a six day medical camp during Muharram from 6th Muharram to 11th Muharram at Imambadah, Khomeini Chowk, Bemina, providing round the clock healthcare services to mourners participating in religious processions and gatherings.
The camp was organized on the directions of Health and Medical Education Minister Sakeena Itoo under the guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. Fazlul Qadir Parray and Medical Superintendent Dr. Shafa Deva, with the full support of Director SKIMS Prof. Dr. Mohd Ashraf Ganie.
A dedicated team of Chief Medical Officers, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, dressers and paramedical staff remained available throughout the camp to provide emergency care, first aid, medicines and referral services. The medical team attended to a large number of patients suffering from dehydration, fatigue, minor injuries and other health issues commonly associated with Muharram observances, ensuring timely and compassionate treatment.
Principal Prof. Dr. Fazlul Qadir Parray visited the medical camp on Saturday and interacted with the healthcare teams. He appreciated the dedication and professionalism displayed by the doctors, nurses, paramedical staff and volunteers, and encouraged them to continue serving the community with the same commitment. He also thanked the District Administration, Police, the management of Imambadah Khomeini Chowk and all supporting agencies for their cooperation in ensuring the smooth conduct of the camp.
Medical Superintendent Dr. Shafa Deva commended the coordinated efforts of the entire medical team whose commitment ensured uninterrupted healthcare services throughout the Muharram period.
SKIMS Medical College and Hospital, Bemina reaffirmed its commitment to public service and stated that it will continue organizing such outreach initiatives to provide quality healthcare during major public and religious events.
