Kupwara, October 18, 2024 – The Indian Army’s Chinar Corps, in collaboration with 41 RR, successfully organized a thrilling volleyball tournament in the villages of Halmatpora and Gonipora, Kupwara, as part of their ongoing efforts to empower youth and promote physical well-being. The event, held from October 15 to October 18, 2024, aimed to foster teamwork, healthy competition, and an active lifestyle among the region’s youth.
Teams from various blocks of Halmatpora participated in the tournament, with the final match played on October 18 between the teams from Chalgund and Gonipora. In a fiercely contested match, the Chalgund team emerged as the overall champions.
The tournament wasn’t just about sports; it focused on encouraging collaboration and sportsmanship while strengthening the bonds within the local community. Winners and runners-up received trophies, medals, and certificates, while all participants were awarded participation certificates to acknowledge their hard work and dedication.
This initiative by the Indian Army stands as a testament to their commitment to youth development in rural areas through sports and community engagement.
