Baramulla : Kamraj Forest Division of the J&K Forest Department has successfully distributed 1900 quintals of fodder to the local communities in the Kupwara and Baramulla district during the 2024-25 season. The distribution was carried out from the established closures within the division, ensuring that the fodder needs of the residents were met in a timely and organized manner.
Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Kamraj, Anurag Arya IFS, while speaking to a news agency, highlighted the importance of this initiative. “Our focus has always been on supporting the local communities who are directly dependent on forest resources for their livelihood. The distribution of 1900 quintals of fodder this season is a testament to our commitment to sustainable forest management and community welfare. Through this initiative, we aim to provide much-needed relief to the pastoral communities, especially during the critical winter months. The fodder supplied has been sourced from our well-maintained closures, ensuring that the ecological balance is preserved while meeting the needs of our people. We are continuously working to maintain the health of our forests while ensuring that the local populations can sustainably benefit from them.”
The residents of Kupwara and Baramulla districts have expressed their gratitude towards the efforts of the Kamraj Forest Division and the J&K Forest Department. Nazir Ahmad, a local resident, shared his appreciation, saying, “The support we have received from the Kamraj Forest Division has been a great relief. The availability of fodder, especially during the harsh winter months, is a lifeline for us. The timely distribution has helped ease our worries, and we are thankful to the forest department for understanding our needs and delivering on their promises.”
