Iltija Mufti, daughter of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has alleged that she and her mother have been placed under house arrest. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Iltija stated that their gates were locked to prevent her mother from visiting Sopore, where Waseem Mir was reportedly shot dead by the army.
Iltija also claimed that she was barred from visiting Kathua to meet the family of Makhan Din. She expressed frustration over the situation, stating that “nothing has changed in Kashmir even after elections” and that “comforting the families of victims is being criminalized.” The post has garnered significant attention, with over 17,000 views, and has sparked discussions on social media about the political climate in the region.
