Kupwara: In a remarkable initiative aimed at fostering integration and academic enlightenment, “Humdard-e-Kupwara” 41 RR (MARATHA LI), under the aegis of the 68 Mountain Brigade, organized an educational tour for 15 youth from Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir. The week-long tour, held from December 9 to 15, 2024, took these students on an eye-opening journey through the cultural and academic hubs of Bengaluru, under the aegis of OP SADBHAVNA.
The tour introduced the students to some of India’s premier educational and research institutions. At the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), they engaged with scholars in discussions that broadened their academic horizons. A visit to the historic Indian Institute of Science (IISc) provided rare insights into cutting-edge research at the Centres for Ecological Sciences (CES), Materials Research (MRC), and Supercomputer Engineering (SERC). Here, they were briefed on PARAM Pravega, one of India’s most advanced supercomputing facilities, integral to scientific research.
Delving into corporate innovation, the students visited the Amazon Development Centre at Bagmane Tech Park, offering them a glimpse into the fast-paced world of global technology. At the HAL Aerospace Museum and the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum (VITM), they explored the evolution of India’s aerospace and industrial advancements.
The tour also spotlighted the nation’s military heritage. Visits to the Madras Engineer Group (MEG) and Centre and the Parachute Regiment Training Centre (PRTC) acquainted the youth with the legacy of valor and sacrifice that underpins the Indian Army.
Sports and recreation found their place in the itinerary with a visit to the iconic M. Chinnaswamy KSCA Stadium and the National Cricket Academy (NCA), underscoring the role of sports in shaping leadership and discipline.
This meticulously curated tour offered more than just academic and cultural exposure. It served as a bridge, linking the scenic landscapes of Kupwara with the bustling metropolis of Bengaluru, and kindled a spirit of national integration among the participants. With a newfound perspective, these young pioneers return to Kashmir, ready to channel their experiences into education and community development.
