Srinagar : Health and Medical Education Minister Sakina Itoo has directed the immediate release of pending salaries for NHM employees in Jammu and Kashmir. She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring timely financial support for healthcare workers.
In a post on X, Itoo stated, “Have passed the directions for the release of salaries of NHM employees. The government remains committed to the welfare of healthcare workers and ensuring timely support for their invaluable services.”
Her intervention follows a report by Spotlight, which brought attention to the growing concerns of NHM employees** regarding salary delays. Frustrated by months of non-payment, NHM workers had urged the government to address the issue at the earliest, warning that continued delays could impact healthcare services across the region.
The government’s move is expected to bring much-needed relief to NHM employees, who play a crucial role in J&K’s healthcare system.
