Srinagar: Air India flight AI2611, scheduled to depart Srinagar at 12:30 PM and arrive in Jammu at 1:20 PM, was unexpectedly diverted to Delhi due to poor visibility conditions. The pilot made the decision to reroute the aircraft, which was carrying 180 passengers, citing unavoidable circumstances.
Passengers onboard, including several MBBS students from the Kashmir Valley who were traveling to appear for the FMGE exam in Jammu, have been informed to await further updates. Accommodation has been offered to those affected by the delay.
A Public Relations Officer from Air India, stationed at Srinagar Airport, confirmed to this reporter that all passengers are safe and assured that the airline will provide updates regarding the next course of action shortly.
This incident has caused significant concern among the affected passengers, particularly the students who are racing against time to reach their examination venue.
