The Spotlight has appointed Mir Ayaz as its new Executive Editor. The decision was made during an Editorial Board meeting presided over by Kamran Ashraf Bhat, CEO and Director of News at The Spotlight.
As Executive Editor, Ayaz will hold the most influential position within the newsroom, overseeing editorial policy implementation and content production. His responsibilities will include managing the editorial staff, including assistant editors, senior editors, and writers, ensuring high-quality and impactful journalism.
Journalist based in Kashmir and Delhi, Ayaz has extensively covered conflict, identity, human rights, and government policies in the region. His work has been featured in several prestigious national and international publications, including Fair Planet, Index on Censorship, and Dollars & Sense, among others.
His experience with international publications and expertise in narrative journalism will be instrumental in enhancing The Spotlight’s storytelling approach, enabling more comprehensive coverage of critical issues.
