Jammu: A massive uproar broke out in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly after BJP lawmakers referred to the 1931 Kashmiri Muslim martyrs as “traitors.” The controversial remarks sparked outrage, prompting Member of Assembly Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami to call for restraint and uphold the dignity of the House.
Addressing the chaos, Tarigami passionately appealed to all members to maintain composure and avoid actions that undermine the sanctity of the Assembly. He urged the Leader of the Opposition to guide his members toward constructive and serious dialogue on pressing public issues, rather than allowing disparaging comments about revered martyrs.
Tarigami strongly condemned the use of “unparliamentary language,” asserting that such behavior is unacceptable within a democratic institution. He emphasized that all political parties must take a firm and united stance to protect the integrity and honor of the Assembly.
