New Delhi – Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) leader and incarcerated Member of Parliament, Engineer Rashid, has ended his hunger strike on the 11th day after the Delhi High Court granted him two-day custody parole for February 11 and 13.
AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi welcomed the court’s decision, expressing gratitude to the people of Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency and Jammu and Kashmir for their unwavering support. He also acknowledged the solidarity shown by political and religious leaders, civil society members, trade unions, and human rights activists.
Inam extended special thanks to the legal team, led by Senior Advocate H. Hariharan and comprising several other lawyers, for their relentless efforts in securing justice for Er Rashid.
Reaffirming Er Rashid’s commitment to representing the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, Inam stated that despite the hardships, the leader remains steadfast in his cause. He emphasized AIP’s ongoing struggle for justice and democracy, expressing hope that the judiciary would grant regular bail to the detained MP.
Urging continued support for Er Rashid, the AIP spokesperson reiterated faith in the legal system and called for collective efforts to uphold the democratic rights and dignity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
