Kupwara: MLA Karnah Javid Mirchal of the National Conference recently credited former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for funding the dialysis machine at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Tangdar. However, documents presented by the Awami Ittihad Party (AIP) refute this claim, confirming that the funds were allocated by MP Engineer Rashid under the MPLADS (Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme).

In a public statement, Javid Mirchal claimed that the procurement of the dialysis machine for SDH Tangdar was facilitated by Omar Abdullah during his tenure as Chief Minister. He further assured that all necessary dialysis machinery would be installed by January 2025, following discussions with health department officials.
The AIP spokesperson, Inam un Nabi, disputed Mirchal’s claims, releasing official documents that showed the dialysis machine was funded and approved by Engineer Rashid during his term as MP. The funds were allocated under MPLADS for the improvement of healthcare infrastructure in Tangdar.
The procurement of the dialysis machine had been a long-standing demand of the local population to address healthcare challenges in the remote Karnah region. While Javid Mirchal claimed Omar Abdullah’s involvement, AIP clarified that the project had been completed due to Engineer Rashid’s initiative and allocation of funds during his tenure.
What the Documents Show
According to the documents shared by AIP, the funds for the dialysis machine were sanctioned in Engineer Rashid’s MPLADS plan, and the machine was procured and installed as part of his development agenda. No financial involvement from Omar Abdullah or the National Conference was noted in these records.

The claim by MLA Javid Mirchal crediting Omar Abdullah for funding the dialysis machine at SDH Tangdar is factually incorrect. Official records confirm that the funds were allocated by Engineer Rashid under MPLADS, ensuring the delivery of this critical medical equipment to Tangdar.
