Kupwara, Nov 18: The Hajipir Brigade, in collaboration with the Zila Sainik Board, organized an Ex-Servicemen Meet at Trehgam Garrison today, reaffirming its commitment to the welfare of Veer Naris and veterans in Kupwara and Baramulla districts.
The event witnessed the participation of six Veer Naris and 35 ex-servicemen, who were updated on various contemporary issues, including One Rank One Pension (OROP), the SPARSH portal, tax regimes, Defence Salary Package (DSP) accounts, Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), and insurance benefits linked to bank pension accounts.
A key highlight was the inauguration of the newly renovated Hajipir Canteen Stores Department (CSD) waiting lounge, featuring contemporary journals and an informative desk to keep veterans digitally informed on issues of significance.
During the meet, ex-servicemen raised concerns regarding ECHS card renewals, OROP-related benefits, and pension grievances, which were promptly addressed by the brigade staff. The Commander of the Hajipir Brigade and his team engaged in meaningful dialogue with the veterans, reflecting the Indian Army’s ethos of unwavering support for its retired personnel.
The event concluded with the felicitation of Veer Naris, acknowledging their sacrifices and resilience. This initiative underscores the Indian Army’s dedication to upholding its rich traditions while ensuring the welfare of those who have served the nation selflessly.
