Kupwara, April 25, 2025 — In a significant step towards curbing the growing menace of drug trafficking, the Drugmulla Police Post apprehended a suspected drug peddler during a routine checkpoint operation near B.Ed College Crossing on Friday.
The individual, identified as Asif Ahmad Teli, son of Bashir Ahmad Teli, a resident of Drugmulla, was intercepted by the naka team and found in possession of a substantial quantity of brown sugar-like substance, suspected to be heroin.
Following the seizure, police registered a case under FIR No. 123/2025, invoking Sections 8 and 21 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Kupwara. Authorities have launched a thorough investigation to uncover the source of the narcotics and any potential links to a broader trafficking network.
