SRINAGAR : Renowned former bollywood actress, Zaira Wasim took to social media this morning to express her deep disappointment over the state of Badamwari Garden, one of Srinagar’s most picturesque springtime attractions. What was meant to be a peaceful early morning walk turned into a heartbreaking experience for Wasim, who described the park as “completely disrespected.”
In a candid and emotionally charged post, she wrote, “Went for an early morning walk to Badamwari today — and it was truly heartbreaking. Bohot dukh.”
Wasim recounted how she had gone in the hope of enjoying the vibrant spring blossoms, only to be met with heaps of litter and plastic waste scattered across the garden. “Plastic bottles, wrappers, overflowing bins, litter scattered everywhere — across the grass, even on the main walkway,” she noted.
The post, which quickly gained traction online, included photographs revealing the stark contrast between blooming trees and piles of garbage tarnishing the scenic environment. Wasim called the condition of the garden unfair not only to the season and nature but to the space itself.
Despite being a historically rich and aesthetically cherished public space, Badamwari now faces serious questions regarding its maintenance and civic responsibility. “Not a single part of the park felt clean. Bohot hi dukh,” she concluded.
It is pertained to mention that, Zaira Wasim, known for her role in “Dangal,” announced in June 2019 that she was leaving Bollywood, citing that her acting career conflicted with her religious beliefs and faith.
