New Delhi, May 8: Tensions continue to rise between India and Pakistan following the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack in Jammu & Kashmir. India has directly blamed Pakistan-based terror outfits for orchestrating the brutal attack. In response, the Indian armed forces reportedly launched Operation Sindoor, a precision counter-terror campaign aimed at eliminating cross-border threats.
In the wake of this operation, Pakistan’s military spokesperson, Major General Ahmed Sharif of the ISPR, has now accused India of violating its airspace on the night of May 07 and 08. According to the statement, eight Harop drones allegedly targeted multiple locations deep inside Pakistani territory — including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, Mian Channu, and near Karachi.
Sharif claimed that Pakistan’s air defense forces neutralized all eight drones and are currently collecting debris from the crash sites. He further stated that one drone managed to engage a military target in Lahore, injuring four Pakistani soldiers and causing minor damage. Civilian casualties were also reported, including one fatality in Mian Channu.
The Pakistani military has condemned the drone strikes as a “serious provocation” and has claimed retaliatory actions, including shooting down five Indian aircraft and multiple drones near the Line of Control — a claim not confirmed by Indian sources.
Indian officials have so far refrained from commenting on these allegations. However, sources suggest that Operation Sindoor is still active and may involve advanced drone and surveillance missions aimed at neutralizing terrorist infrastructure across the border — not civilian targets.
