Karnah: The Sadhna Road has remained blocked for the last 90 hours, leaving Karnah completely cut off from Kupwara amid heavy snowfall. With no electricity for four days and no helicopter service provided, residents and stranded passengers are enduring extreme hardships.
Beacon officials have confirmed that the avalanche warning level is at 4 (Very High), making movement highly dangerous. A massive snow slide near Khuni Nullah has further delayed road clearance. Officials state that reopening the road depends on weather conditions and a drop in avalanche risk.
Meanwhile, Power Development Department (PDD) employees are struggling to restore electricity, but the faults remain unresolved, keeping the entire region in darkness. The lack of power, road connectivity, and transportation services has left locals frustrated, especially as Ramadan is just two days away.
Residents have issued an urgent appeal to the administration and army authorities to prioritize snow clearance, restore power, and start helicopter services for stranded passengers before conditions worsen further.
