Tangdhar: A special Lok Adalat focusing on electricity bills and traffic challans was successfully held today in Tangdhar, organized by the Tehsil Legal Services Committee under the guidance of the Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Kupwara. The event aimed to provide swift and amicable resolutions to long-standing public grievances.
The Lok Adalat was conducted at Bench No. 5, presided over by Mansoor Ahmad Mir, Chairman of the Tehsil Legal Services Committee and Munsiff of Tangdhar. Advocate Qazi Mehboob Allahi, President of the Tangdhar Bar Association, also served as a member of the bench, ensuring a fair and efficient process.
A total of 108 cases were taken up during the session, with 57 cases being resolved amicably. Officials from the Power Development Department (PDD) were present to address electricity-related complaints, offering on-the-spot solutions to reduce the burden on residents.
The initiative was widely appreciated by the local community, as it provided timely relief and a platform for dispute resolution without the need for prolonged legal procedures. The Lok Adalat underscored the importance of accessible justice and efficient grievance redressal mechanisms in rural areas like Tangdhar.
