Karnah: As part of the public outreach programme, Police Station Karnah today organised a Thana Divas at its premises, presided over by Worthy ASP Kupwara. The program witnessed participation of Imams, respectable persons, Sarpanchs, ex-Sarpanchs, Panchs, Lumberdars, Chowkidars, members of Masjid Committees, the Trade Union Karnah, shopkeepers, departmental officers, and civil society Karnah.
The main aim of the event was to create awareness regarding cyber crimes, drug de-addiction, and their harmful impacts on the youth. Speaking on the occasion, SHO PS Karnah highlighted that the motive behind conducting such programs is to sensitise the public about trending cyber crimes, associated threats, and the menace of drug trafficking, while also strengthening police-public relations.
Worthy ASP Kupwara sought the cooperation of participants in eradicating social evils, particularly drug abuse, and urged the Ulmas, Masjid Committee members, and other participants to actively take steps against this growing threat in society.
Prominent attendees included Beoparmandal President Karnah, Personal Secretary to MLA Karnah Haji Tasleem Mir, BJP Constituency President Karnah Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir, and RSS Youth President Jammu and Kashmir UT Yasir Ahmad Chuck.
