Anantnag/Karnah – In a significant effort to enhance legal awareness and enforcement capabilities, the District Police Anantnag and District Police Kupwara conducted separate yet complementary programs focusing on newly introduced laws.
In Anantnag, a comprehensive legal assessment was organized to evaluate officers’ understanding and practical application of the new laws. Held across three centers—District Police Lines (DPL) Anantnag, Sub-Division Kokernag, and Sub-Division Pahalgam—the assessment witnessed the participation of 750 officers and officials. An interactive discussion followed, allowing officers to exchange insights and strategies for effective law enforcement.
SSP Anantnag, Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy, IPS, emphasized the importance of legal education, stating, “A thorough understanding of new laws is essential for effective enforcement. This initiative ensures our officers are well-equipped to uphold the rule of law.”
Meanwhile, in Teetwal, Karnah, the District Police Kupwara organized a public awareness program to educate citizens about the newly introduced criminal laws. Hosted by Police Post Teetwal, the session featured DYSP DR Kupwara as the chief guest, alongside key officials including Tehsildar Karnah Muhammad Amin Bhat, Senior Public Prosecuting Officer Khalid Mashiak, and Block Development Officer Karnah.
Attended by local residents, representatives from institutions, and law enforcement officials, the event highlighted the importance of understanding and adhering to legal frameworks for a responsible society. The initiative was widely appreciated, with officials promising more such awareness sessions in the future.
