Srinagar: In a heartfelt gesture of solidarity, the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) today observed a two-minute silence in memory of the innocent civilians who lost their lives in the recent act of violence in Pahalgam.
The solemn ceremony was led by Director SKIMS, Prof. M. Ashraf Ganie, and witnessed the participation of faculty members, doctors, nurses, and administrative staff. The gathering stood united in mourning, with heavy hearts and a strong message against violence.
Prof. Ganie, while addressing the staff, said, “The brutal killing of innocent civilians is a blot on humanity. We strongly condemn such cowardly acts and express our deepest condolences to the bereaved families.” He emphasized the need for peace and harmony in the region and reiterated SKIMS’ commitment to serving humanity, especially in difficult times.
The institute also took to social media, using hashtags like #Pahalgam, #StopInnocentKillings, and #SKIMS to amplify its message of peace and solidarity.
The event served not only as a tribute to the departed souls but also as a powerful reminder of the need to uphold human dignity and stand united against senseless violence.
