Lolab, Kupwara | The Indian Army organised a heartfelt and impactful Ex-Servicemen (ESM) Rally at Charkut Garrison in the picturesque Lolab Valley, Kupwara. The event was attended by 177 Ex-Servicemen, along with one Veer Nari and four Next of Kin (NOKs), in a strong gesture of solidarity and gratitude towards those who served the nation with honour.
The rally was aimed at enhancing awareness about welfare schemes, updating official records, and strengthening the grievance redressal system for veterans and their families. Key departments, including the Records Office of JAKLI, Zila Sainik Board, Revenue, Agriculture, Sheep & Animal Husbandry, and National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), along with representatives from regional and national banks, were present to offer on-ground assistance and guidance.
A special medical and dental camp was set up as part of the rally, addressing critical healthcare needs of the veterans. Services such as dental check-ups, extractions, and general medical consultation were provided. Notably, Dr. Abdul Majid Wani, MD of Quality Healthcare, extended free medical advice, conducted blood tests, and distributed medicines to the attendees.
