Karnah Kupwara, May 19: In a joint relief operation, the Indian Army, along with a local non-governmental organization (NGO), distributed essential supplies to families affected by recent shelling in the border areas of Karnah. The relief initiative covered six impacted villages, including Batpora, Haji Nar, Trehboni, Shams Pora, and Bagh Bela, where residents were facing severe hardships.
The relief packages included food items, spices, rice, flour, and edible oil, providing much-needed support to the affected families and helping them meet their daily necessities. This timely assistance not only offered immediate relief but also helped stabilize the basic needs of those struggling due to the conflict.
Local residents expressed deep gratitude to the Indian Army and the NGO for their support during this challenging time. A resident from Batpora said, “We are immensely thankful to the Indian Army for standing with us during every crisis. Their help is very important for us.”
Speaking with Our Correspondent , Tahir Zaman, Lambardar of Batpora, and Jaffar Lone, Ex-Sarpanch of Hajinar, praised the Indian Army’s continuous support. Tahir Zaman said, “The Indian Army has always been there for us in every situation, whether it’s during shelling or natural disasters. Their efforts are truly commendable.” Jaffar Lone added, “We appreciate the way the Army reaches out to the affected families without any delay. Their presence is a pillar of support for our community.”
