Kupwara: In a horrific incident this evening, 40-year old Ab Samad Sheikh, son of Gh Mohd Sheikh was viciously attacked by a leopard at Doban Machil. The attack which took place when the man was going about his daily routine disfigured his face and severed his hand.
The sudden attack was seen by local residents, and they quickly moved the injured man to the PHC Dudi. Sheikh is undergoing treatment at present, and doctors are observing his condition.
The attack has created growing anxieties among residents of Doban Machil and has urged authorities to take speedy action in taming the potential safety risks as posed by these wild animal contacts. The residents are demanding measures to be urgently taken to avoid further threats by such wild encounters.
