Kupwara: A welfare outreach programme under the Dharti Aaba Abhiyan was organised on Sunday in Kundian village of Keran sector, Kupwara district. The event was jointly conducted by the District Administration Kupwara and the Indian Army’s Rashtriya Rifles Battalion (Keran Unit), with support from the local Rashtriya Rifles Company.

Officials from several departments, including Revenue, Rural Development, Health, and Animal Husbandry, participated in the camp. Services such as issuance of certificates, health check-ups, livestock support, and enrolment in government schemes were provided on the spot.

Tehsildar Keran, BDO Keran, SHO Keran, and the Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Kupwara were among the key officials present at the event.
The Company Commander of Rashtriya Rifles Kundian expressed gratitude to the district administration for their outreach. “We deeply value the administration’s effort in bringing critical welfare schemes to our people here. Our battalion stands united with the local community and will continue to support every initiative that uplifts the lives of these resilient citizens,” he said.

Local residents, mainly from tribal communities, participated in the programme. Many availed welfare schemes and public services for the first time.
The event also included cultural performances by school children, showcasing local traditions.
The outreach programme is part of an ongoing effort to improve access to public services in remote and border areas of the district.
